Whitwell Church Post Office and Community Shop
When the Whitwell shop and Post Office facilities closed a search to find new premises was undertaken. The offer of the Parish Church to host a Post Office twice a week was accepted.
So, alongside the Post Office it was decided that the following would be offered:
- Twice a week a coffee area where villagers and visitors could come and meet with one another.
- Newspapers and stationery, greetings cards etc.
- Dry-cleaning service
On Fridays there is the opportunity to buy local produce including:
- Preserves and organic vegetables
- Home made bread and cakes
- Garden – bulbs, plants etc.
- Handicrafts
- Local eggs
- Second hand books
