The community of Market Overton have succeeded in re-opening their village shop - just 16 weeks after the previous shop owners announced they were closing. The previous shop and Post Office had been an essential part of village life for over 20 years, and residents were not prepared to stand by and watch it close. With a strong committee and the support of village residents the new community shop opened in an extremely impressive turnaround time. Determined to retain Market Overton's strong, vibrant and cohesive community the shop committee is also aiming to provide a greater range of local produce.

The opening has been featured in the local media - Rutland and Stamford Mercury article

Market Overton Shop also has also been featured in food and drinks blog - read their story here.

View a video from their grand opening below and you can view a slide show of the shop project here.
