Kirdford Village Stores
Photographs:
Kirdford Village Stores was officially opened on 5th June 2010 by Julie Walters. The opening of the shop was the culmination of three years hard work on the part of the village shop steering committee, and supporting volunteers. The team worked tirelessly to raise over £200,000 to buy the timber-framed building, which once formed part of the Kirdford Growers, and to transform it into attractive shop premises.
The village shop is more than just a place to buy groceries. With a focus on local produce and all the daily essentials, there are lots of tempting treats too, including home-made cakes and pastries!
Fresh coffee is served in the café area, with a backdrop of ever changing Art by local artists. Also offered is local jewellery, cards and gifts; internet facilities; a meeting room to hire by the hour or day; and postage facilities. The local produce includes fresh meat, bread, milk, free range and organic eggs plus duck and quail eggs; apple juices; seasonal fruit and vegetables; cheeses; olive and rape seed oils; coffee; beer.
