With the help of grant aid from the York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation and the Big Lottery "Awards for All", Hudswell Community Pub is proud to announce that the "Little Shop" is now

Mon to Saturday 8am – 12 noon and 5pm – 6pm

Sundays 10am – 12 noon

At these times the shop is staffed by volunteers. Customers can access the shop whilst the pub is open, providing that the bar staff are not too busy. In this way the village shop is practically "open all hours "! It sells groceries, bread, cakes, pies, milk, newspapers, frozen food, wine, beer, cigarettes, fruit and vegetables. There will also be some specialist lines … watch this space for information. We hope that the shop will generate enough business to eventually pay for someone to manage it, but for now we are grateful to the volunteers and, as with the pub, the shop’s future is in the hands of the customers. It’s a case of use it or lose it.

The shop provides a prescription collection service, a dry cleaning service and a parcel drop off service. If it does not sell what you want, ask the volunteer and we will see if we can get some in. The Little Shop will sell what you want to buy and it’s amazing how much stock fits into so small a space. Do come and pay us a visit.
