Ewelme Village Stores
Ewelme Village Stores, a beneficiary of the Plunkett Foundations Village CORE Programme, celebrated their official opening on 2nd May 2009.
The Shop sells a range of fresh locally sourced produce as well as a range of basic supplies. The shop also includes a community-run tea room, offering hot and cold beverages and serving cakes baked on the premises.
Ewelme Village Stores engages the local community in many ways. As well as encouraging residents to volunteer in the shop, it has also developed close links with the school to offer pupils practical work experience in a retail environment and as well as basic business skills.
The shop also offers a home delivery service for those less able to get out and about, dry cleaning, basic postal services and recycling.
