Cheswardine Community Shop
The village of Cheswardine, near Market Drayton in Shropshire celebrated the official launch of their new community shop on 22nd May 2010. The village pulled together following the announcement in October 2008 that their existing village shop was to close. An enthusiastic committee was quickly identified and after eighteen months of hard work, the village shop is now once again providing an essential service to all local residents. Not only is Cheswardine the latest community shop to open, but housed in the old wash-house of the local Fox and Hounds pub it also claims to be the smallest shop in the UK.
