Bradford on Tone
The following information has been taken from the shops website
Following a period of several years without a shop, in October 1995 the then landlord of The White Horse Inn set up a shop on the present site. In 1998 the Parish Council were asked to take over the shop but when this proved impossible a public meeting was called and subsequently a group of twelve people put forward a plan. Villagers were invited to finance the plan by purchasing shares and within ten days £4,500 had been secured. A committee was formed and the village shop was re-launched on 1 April 1998. In 2000 it became an Industrial and Provident Society named ‘Bradford-on-Tone Village Shop Association’ (BOTVSA).
